Sound familiar?

The job, before and after this agent.

What it feels like today

  • “Students forget what to practice the moment they leave the lesson.”
  • “Writing a practice email for every student after every lesson isn't realistic.”
  • “Parents want to help but don't know what to listen for at home.”

What you get with the agent

  • Starts when you add a lesson row to your log: first name, guardian email, pieces, what went well, focus and minutes a day.
  • Writes a specific, encouraging day-by-day plan from your notes only, never adding pieces or exercises you didn't write.
  • You approve and can edit the plan, unless you switch approval off; it's emailed to the guardian with replies to you.
  • Three days later, sends a short mid-week note with one tip.

Before

You scribble “scales + bars 9–16” in a notebook. By Thursday the student has practiced the easy part twice and forgotten the rest.

After

Ten minutes after the lesson, the parent has a 20-minutes-a-day plan built from your notes, and on Wednesday a nudge to slow bars 9–16 down.

How it works

The whole workflow, step by step.

For music, art, language and sports teachers and tutors. After each lesson the teacher adds a row to a Google Sheets lesson log: the student's first name, the guardian's email, pieces or topics, what went well, the focus and minutes a day. AI writes a specific, encouraging day-by-day practice plan from those notes only, plus a short mid-week note with one tip. The teacher approves and can edit it unless approval is switched off. The plan is emailed to the guardian with replies to the teacher, and three days later the mid-week encouragement follows. It uses the first name and guardian email only, never surnames, grades or assessments, and never adds pieces or exercises the teacher didn't write.

This is the workflow that opens in your workspace when you set the agent up. Every step can be edited.

  1. Step 1New lesson log rowStarts when the teacher adds a row to the lesson log sheet after a lesson (checked on your plan's schedule interval): first name, guardian email, pieces or topics, what went well, focus and minutes a day.
  2. Step 2Write the week's practice planAI turns the teacher's notes into a specific, encouraging day-by-day practice plan for the week, plus a short mid-week note with one tip — first name only, no grades or assessments.
  3. Step 3Send it?Rows without a guardian email or anything to plan are skipped; plans wait for the teacher's approval unless your rules switch it off.
  4. Step 4SkippedNo guardian email or nothing to plan; the run history keeps the reason.
  5. Step 5Teacher approves the planThe teacher reads the plan and the mid-week note in Reviews, edits them and approves.
  6. Step 6Not sentThe teacher rejected the plan.
  7. Step 7Ready to sendApproved or automatic plans are emailed now.
  8. Step 8HeldThe plan was marked not to send.
  9. Step 9Email the practice planSends the plan to the guardian's email, with replies going to the teacher.
  10. Step 10Wait 3 daysPauses the run for 3 days; it resumes on its own (Dry Run doesn't wait).
  11. Step 11Email the mid-week encouragementSends the short mid-week note with one tip.
  12. Step 12Plan and mid-week note sentThe run history keeps both emails.

What goes in, and what comes out.

Example with fictional data

Comes in

Lesson row (fictional): Mia, piano, Minuet in G, went well: steady left hand, focus: bars 9–16 hands together, 15 minutes a day.

The agent produces

Day-by-day plan for Mia's guardian built from those notes, ready for your approval; a mid-week tip about slow hands-together practice queued for 3 days later.

What you need

Everything it takes to run it.

About 10 minutes from purchase to live. A checklist above the canvas takes you through each step.

Apps

Checklist

  • A paid plan (agents run live on paid plans; the 3-day wait also needs the Wait step enabled on your workspace).
  • An AI provider key (Settings → AI Providers).
  • Google Sheets, connected in Settings → Integrations, with a lesson log sheet.

Setup, about 10 minutes

  1. Connect your AI provider. The AI steps run on your own key (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and more). Add one in Settings → AI Providers.
  2. Connect Google Sheets. Connect the Google account that can open your lesson log (Settings → Integrations → Google Sheets).
  3. Pick your lesson log. Open the trigger and pick the Google account, spreadsheet and tab.
  4. Describe your studio. Open “Write the week's practice plan” and replace the placeholder with your studio and plan style.
  5. Add the teacher's email. Open both email steps and enter the address replies should go to.
  6. Test it with Dry Run. Press Dry Run: the agent runs on sample data with no messages sent and nothing written to your apps.
  7. Switch the trigger on. Open the trigger and press “Activate app trigger”: from then on each new lesson row gets a practice plan. Rows already in the sheet are skipped.

Is it a fit?

Who it's for, and what it won't do.

Built for

  • Music teachers and studios
  • Art, language and sports tutors
  • Small studios sharing one lesson log

What it doesn't do

  • It uses the student's first name and the guardian's email only: no surnames, grades, assessments or personal details, even if they're in the notes.
  • The plan comes from the teacher's notes only; it never adds new pieces, books or exercises.
  • It doesn't track practice or book lessons.

FAQ

Questions about Lesson Practice Plan.

Will it make up exercises?

No. The plan comes from your notes only. You approve each one and can edit it, and Dry Run lets you see a sample before going live.

What about children's data?

It uses only the student's first name and the guardian's email. Surnames, grades, assessments and personal details are left out even if they're in the notes.

How long is setup?

About 10 minutes: connect Google Sheets, pick your lesson log, describe your studio and add your email.

Is it worth paying for?

It's a one-time purchase that never renews, set against writing practice emails after every lesson. You need a paid plan and your own AI key; Dry Run is free.

What should the lesson log look like?

One row per lesson with a header row: Date, Student first name, Guardian email, Pieces or topics, Went well, Focus this week, Minutes a day. Keep it to first names: no surnames, grades or assessments.

Who is it for?

Music, art, language and sports teachers and tutors, and small studios with several teachers sharing one log.

Is this a subscription?

No. Lesson Practice Plan is a one-time purchase of $69 per workspace and never renews. The Enterprise plan includes it at no extra cost. Running it live needs a paid plan (from Basic ($39/mo)), and your AI provider bills you directly for usage.

Can I test it before it touches real data?

Yes. Once it's set up in your workspace, Dry Run plays every step on sample data with simulated AI and app calls: nothing is sent and nothing in your apps changes. Switch the trigger on only when you're happy.
