Sound familiar?

The job, before and after this agent.

What it feels like today

  • “Half my inbox is people asking where their order is.”
  • “Every reply means opening Shopify, finding the order and copying the tracking link.”
  • “I worry about sharing someone's order details with the wrong person.”

What you get with the agent

  • Each question from your contact form or help widget is matched to the sender's orders by their email, so only their own orders are discussed.
  • AI drafts a clear reply from Shopify's payment, fulfillment, carrier and tracking details, with estimates based only on your shipping times.
  • Returns, damage, cancellations and charge questions are flagged with what a person needs to do, and the reply promises a follow-up.
  • Every reply waits for your approval, then is emailed with replies going to your support inbox.

Before

Monday morning: 30 “where is it?” messages. You search Shopify for each one, copy tracking numbers and type the same answer over and over.

After

Each message arrives with a ready reply: the order, its status, the tracking link and an estimate from your shipping times. You read it, approve it and move on.

How it works

The whole workflow, step by step.

Each message from your contact form or help widget is matched to the sender's Shopify orders by their email (and the order number when given), so only their own orders are discussed. AI reads the payment, fulfilment, carrier and tracking recorded in Shopify and drafts a clear reply with the tracking link and an estimate from your own shipping times. Problems, returns, cancellations and charge questions are flagged with what a person must do. Every reply waits in Reviews and is emailed once approved. It sees Shopify's records, not the carrier's live scans.

This is the workflow that opens in your workspace when you set the agent up. Every step can be edited.

  1. Step 1New order questionYour contact form or help widget posts each message (name, email, order number if given, message) to the webhook URL.
  2. Step 2Find the order in ShopifyLooks up the customer's orders by email (and order number when given), so the reply uses the real status and tracking.
  3. Step 3Read the status and draft the replyAI matches the message to the right order, reads its payment, fulfilment and tracking, and drafts a clear reply — or flags anything a person must handle.
  4. Step 4Spam?Spam and empty messages stop here; every real message goes to Reviews with its draft reply.
  5. Step 5IgnoredThe run history keeps the message.
  6. Step 6Approve the replyA teammate checks the order status and the draft in Reviews (flagged ones say what a person must do), edits it if needed and approves it.
  7. Step 7Email the customerSends the approved reply, with replies going to your support inbox.

The agent produces

Found one order for that email, shipped Tuesday with the carrier and tracking link recorded in Shopify. Draft reply with the link and your usual 3–5 day delivery time, waiting in Reviews.

About 10 minutes from purchase to live. A checklist above the canvas takes you through each step.

Plan

Included in Enterprise; on other paid plans it's $99 once. Agents run live on paid plans, from Basic ($39/mo).

Apps

Checklist

  • A paid plan (agents run live on paid plans).
  • An AI provider key (Settings → AI Providers).
  • Shopify, connected in Settings → Integrations.
  • A contact form or help widget that can send messages to a webhook URL.

Setup, about 10 minutes

  1. Connect your AI provider. The AI steps run on your own key (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and more). Add one in Settings → AI Providers.
  2. Connect Shopify. Connect your Shopify store (Settings → Integrations → Shopify) with access to orders (read_orders).
  3. Describe your store and shipping. Open “Read the status and draft the reply” and replace the placeholder with your store, shipping times and how problems are handled.
  4. Pick your Shopify store. Open “Find the order in Shopify” and pick your store.
  5. Add your support email address. Open “Email the customer” and enter the address customers should reply to.
  6. Test it with Dry Run. Press Dry Run: the agent runs on sample data with no messages sent and nothing written to your apps.
  7. Switch the trigger on. Open the trigger, switch the webhook on and send your contact form or help widget's messages (name, email, order_number, message) to its URL.

Is it a fit?

Who it's for, and what it won't do.

Built for

  • Shopify store owners answering support themselves
  • Small e-commerce support teams
  • Shops with a contact form or help widget that can post to a webhook

What it doesn't do

  • It sees Shopify's fulfilment and tracking number, not the carrier's live scans.
  • It doesn't cancel, change, refund or reship orders; returns stay with the E-commerce Returns Assistant.
  • It never emails a customer without a person approving the reply.

FAQ

Questions about Order Status Desk.

What if it gets an order wrong?

Orders are looked up by the sender's email, so nothing is shared unless it matches. Every reply waits for a person to approve, and it only uses what Shopify recorded plus your shipping times. Try it first with Dry Run.

Which apps does it need?

Just Shopify, for the real order and tracking link. The agent's page shows whether each app is ready to connect.

Does it show live carrier scans?

No. It reads the tracking details Shopify recorded and points the customer to the tracking link for the latest scan.

What does it take to run?

About 10 minutes of setup, a paid plan and your own AI provider key (Dry Run is free). It's a one-time purchase that never renews, set against a lot of copy-and-paste replies.

Does it show live carrier tracking?

No. It reads what Shopify recorded (fulfilment, carrier, tracking number and link) and points the customer to the tracking link for the latest scan.

What if someone asks about an order that isn't theirs?

Orders are looked up by the sender's email, so nothing is shared unless the email matches. Otherwise the reply asks for the order number and the email used at checkout.

Is this a subscription?

No. Order Status Desk is a one-time purchase of $99 per workspace and never renews. The Enterprise plan includes it at no extra cost. Running it live needs a paid plan (from Basic ($39/mo)), and your AI provider bills you directly for usage.

Can I test it before it touches real data?

Yes. Once it's set up in your workspace, Dry Run plays every step on sample data with simulated AI and app calls: nothing is sent and nothing in your apps changes. Switch the trigger on only when you're happy.

Order Status Desk is almost ready.
