Sound familiar?

The job, before and after this agent.

What it feels like today

  • “I find out about a bad article about us when a customer forwards it.”
  • “Google Alerts fills my inbox with irrelevant results I've stopped reading.”
  • “A competitor launched a new tier last month and we heard about it from a prospect.”

What you get with the agent

  • The last 24 hours of Google News for your brand and competitor names, or any public RSS feed you choose, read every morning.
  • Irrelevant items dropped and duplicate stories merged, so you read each story once.
  • Each mention scored for sentiment and priority, with a one-line reason and a suggested action.
  • A prioritized digest in your Slack channel, high-priority items first.
  • PR risks and major competitor moves also emailed to the person you choose.

Before

Every few days someone skims a cluttered alerts folder, misses a critical review in a trade outlet, and learns about a competitor's price cut from a lost deal.

After

At 8am Slack shows three items: a competitor's price change marked high priority with a suggested response, one positive press mention worth sharing, and nothing else to wade through.

How it works

The whole workflow, step by step.

Each morning it fetches the last 24 hours of Google News results for your brand and competitor names, or any public RSS feed you choose (Google Alerts, Reddit search, a competitor's blog). AI keeps only items really about you or your competitors, merges duplicate stories, scores sentiment and priority, and suggests an action for each. A prioritized digest goes to your Slack channel; PR risks and major competitor moves are also emailed to the person you choose. It reads public news and RSS feeds, not Instagram, Facebook, X or TikTok.

Example run

What goes in, and what comes out.

Example with fictional data

Comes in

Morning feed for Acme Analytics and two competitors: 14 news items, including a duplicate story syndicated by three outlets.

The agent produces

Slack digest with 4 items. High: a competitor announced a free tier (suggested action: brief sales on positioning). Medium: a trade blog mentions Acme Analytics favorably (share on LinkedIn). Duplicates merged; 10 irrelevant items dropped. High item also emailed to the marketing lead.

Apps

Checklist

  • A paid plan (agents run live on paid plans).
  • An AI provider key (Settings → AI Providers).
  • Slack, connected in Settings → Integrations.
  • Your brand and competitor names (and, optionally, a Google Alerts or other RSS feed address).

Setup, about 10 minutes

  1. Connect your AI provider. The AI steps run on your own key (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and more). Add one in Settings → AI Providers.
  2. Connect Slack. Connect the Slack workspace your marketing team uses (Settings → Integrations → Slack).
  3. Choose what to watch. Open “Read the news feed” and put your brand and competitor names in the address, or paste a Google Alerts / Reddit RSS feed address instead.
  4. Describe your brand and competitors. Open “Analyze the mentions” and replace the placeholder with your brand, competitors and what counts as urgent.
  5. Pick the Slack account and channel. Open “Post the daily digest to Slack” and pick your account and channel. Invite the app to private channels first (/invite @Fluxo Flow).
  6. Add the alert address. Open “Email the owner about urgent mentions” and enter who should hear about urgent items.
  7. Test it with Dry Run. Press Dry Run: the agent runs on sample data with no messages sent and nothing written to your apps.
  8. Switch the trigger on. Open the trigger, set your time zone and switch the schedule on. It runs every morning at 8:00.

Built for

  • Marketing and comms leads at small and mid-size companies
  • Founders keeping an eye on competitors
  • Agencies monitoring brand news for clients

What it doesn't do

  • It doesn't monitor Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok or YouTube; those networks don't offer a feed it can read.
  • It reads headlines and snippets from the feed, not the full articles behind the links.
  • It doesn't discover new competitors by itself or reply to anyone; you choose the names it watches.
  • One feed per workflow (combine names with OR, or duplicate the workflow for another feed).

We list the limits up front so you can decide before you buy.

FAQ

Questions about Brand & Competitor Mention Monitor.

Does it watch Instagram, TikTok or X?

No. Those networks don't offer a feed it can read. It covers public news and RSS: Google News, Google Alerts delivered to RSS, Reddit search RSS and blogs.

What if it misjudges a story?

Every item comes with its reason and the link, so you can see why it was ranked. It reads headlines and snippets, not full articles, and it never replies to anyone.

How long does setup take?

About 10 minutes: connect Slack, type your brand and competitor names, and optionally paste an RSS feed address.

Is it worth the price?

A one-time price that never renews, against someone reading alerts every day. Live runs need a paid plan and your own AI provider key; Dry Run is free.

Can I watch several feeds?

Combine names with OR in one Google News search, or duplicate the workflow per feed.

Is this a subscription?

No. Brand & Competitor Mention Monitor is a one-time purchase of $69 per workspace and never renews. The Enterprise plan includes it at no extra cost. Running it live needs a paid plan (from Basic ($39/mo)), and your AI provider bills you directly for usage.

Can I test it before it touches real data?

Yes. Once it's set up in your workspace, Dry Run plays every step on sample data with simulated AI and app calls: nothing is sent and nothing in your apps changes. Switch the trigger on only when you're happy.
