VIP & Risky Order Alert · E-commerce & Retail
Spot risky orders before they ship. Never miss a VIP again.
Every new Shopify order is checked against your own VIP and risk rules. Risky ones are tagged and wait for a person to decide; your best customers get noticed in Slack.
Can't be bought yet: waiting for Shopify approval. It opens for purchase on its own once approved.

Sound familiar?
The job, before and after this agent.
What it feels like today
- “I only find out an order was suspicious after it shipped and the chargeback lands.”
- “Our best customers order again and nobody on the team even notices.”
- “Checking every order by hand doesn't happen on a busy day.”
What you get with the agent
- Each new order is checked against your VIP and risk rules, with the customer's order count and lifetime spend pulled from Shopify.
- Risky orders get a “review” tag and a Slack alert with the facts behind the call, then wait for a person to approve or keep on hold.
- Approved orders are tagged “review-cleared” with a dated note, so the team knows it was checked.
- VIP orders get a “vip” tag and a quick celebration in Slack so someone can add a personal touch.
- Normal orders are left alone, so the channel only shows orders that need attention.
Before
You skim the orders list between other jobs. A big order to a freight forwarder slips through, and a five-time customer's order goes out with no thank-you note.
After
Within minutes of each order, Slack shows the ones that matter: a risky order with the reasons listed, waiting for your call, and a VIP order flagged so packing can add a note.
How it works
The whole workflow, step by step.
For each new Shopify order the agent looks up the customer's history (orders and lifetime spend) and AI checks the order against your own VIP and risk rules, listing the facts behind its call. Risky orders are tagged “review”, posted to Slack and wait in Reviews for a person: approve to mark them “review-cleared”, reject to keep them on hold. VIP orders are tagged “vip” and celebrated in Slack; normal orders are left alone. It uses order data only (not Shopify's fraud analysis) and never cancels, refunds or holds fulfillment itself.

This is the workflow that opens in your workspace when you set the agent up. Every step can be edited.
- Step 1New Shopify orderStarts for each new order in your Shopify store (checked every few minutes, on your plan's schedule interval).
- Step 2Look up the customer's historyFinds the customer in Shopify by the order's email to see how many orders they've placed and how much they've spent.
- Step 3Score the orderAI checks the order and the customer's history against your VIP and risk rules and explains its call: VIP, needs review, or normal.
- Step 4VIP, risky or normal?Risky orders are tagged and held for a person; VIP orders are tagged and celebrated; normal orders end here.
- Step 5Normal orderThe run history keeps the score and the reasons.
- Step 6Tag it “review”Adds a “review” tag to the order (existing tags kept), so your team can filter held orders in Shopify.
- Step 7Post it in SlackRisky orders: the reasons and a link to Reviews. VIP orders: a short celebration for the team.
- Step 8Tag it “vip”Adds a “vip” tag to the order (existing tags kept).
- Step 9A person decides on the risky orderSomeone on your team checks the order in Shopify (and with the customer if needed). Approve to clear it; reject to handle it yourself (cancel or refund in Shopify).
- Step 10Mark it clearedReplaces the “review” tag with “review-cleared” and adds a dated note on the order (existing tags and note kept).
- Step 11Kept on holdThe order keeps its “review” tag; your team handles it in Shopify.

Example with fictional data
Comes in
Order #1052 from a first-time customer for $1,184, shipping to a freight-forwarding address in Miami with a phone number from another country (example data).
The agent produces
Tagged “review” and posted to Slack: first order, total well above your usual order, shipping address matches your forwarder rule, phone country differs. Waiting in Reviews for a person to clear or hold it.

Is it a fit?
Who it's for, and what it won't do.
Built for

- Small e-commerce teams without a fraud analyst
- Brands selling high-ticket items like electronics or gear
- Shops that want to treat repeat customers better
What it doesn't do
- It doesn't cancel, refund or hold fulfillment of orders — a person decides and acts in Shopify.

FAQ
Questions about VIP & Risky Order Alert.
What if the AI flags a good order or misses a bad one?
It never cancels, refunds or holds anything itself. It tags and alerts, and a person makes every call. It only works from your order data and the rules you write, and you can test it on sample orders with Dry Run first.
Which apps does it need?
Shopify for the orders and Slack for the alerts. The agent's page shows whether each app is ready to connect.
How long does setup take?
About 12 minutes: connect Shopify and Slack, write your VIP and risk rules in plain words, pick your store and channel, then run a Dry Run.
Is it worth paying for?
It's a one-time purchase that never renews. Compare that with someone opening every order, looking up the customer's history and deciding by gut feel. You need a paid plan and your own AI provider key to run it live; Dry Run is free.
Does it cancel or hold fulfillment of risky orders?
No. It tags them “review”, alerts your team and asks a person to decide. Holding fulfillment, cancelling or refunding stays in Shopify, done by you.
Does it use Shopify's fraud analysis?
No. It uses the order and customer data (addresses, totals, history, tags) plus your rules.
Is this a subscription?
No. VIP & Risky Order Alert is a one-time purchase of $79 per workspace and never renews. The Enterprise plan includes it at no extra cost. Running it live needs a paid plan (from Basic ($39/mo)), and your AI provider bills you directly for usage.
Can I test it before it touches real data?
Yes. Once it's set up in your workspace, Dry Run plays every step on sample data with simulated AI and app calls: nothing is sent and nothing in your apps changes. Switch the trigger on only when you're happy.
