Integration guide

Google Sheets to Slack notifications that people read

Alert a channel when a row is added, post a morning digest of what's overdue, or log a ✅ reaction in Slack back to the sheet.

In short

Fluxo Flow connects Google Sheets and Slack (both live): a new row at the bottom of a sheet, or a schedule, starts a workflow that can summarize the rows with AI and post to a Slack channel; a Slack reaction can add a row back to the sheet.

What you can build

Google Sheets + Slack: 3 workflows.

Every step is a real node or connector action in the app.

Daily digest of a tracker sheet

4 steps

Each weekday morning, AI reads the tracker and posts what's overdue, due today and blocked, by owner.

  1. Step 1: Scheduled triggerWeekdays at 7:30
  2. Step 2: IntegrationGoogle Sheets: Read rows
  3. Step 3: AI GenerateOverdue, due today, blocked, biggest risk
  4. Step 4: Slack PostPost to #ops

Result: One message a day instead of a status meeting.

New row → Slack alert

3 steps

A form or another workflow appends a row; the right channel hears about it within one schedule interval.

  1. Step 1: App event triggerGoogle Sheets: New row
  2. Step 2: RouterRoute by a column (region, priority)
  3. Step 3: Slack PostPost the row to that team's channel

Result: Rows don't sit unseen in a sheet nobody has open.

Slack ✅ → log the approval in a sheet

3 steps

Someone reacts ✅ to a request in a channel; the workflow records who approved what, and when.

  1. Step 1: App event triggerSlack: Reaction added (instant)
  2. Step 2: RouterOnly the ✅ reaction
  3. Step 3: IntegrationGoogle Sheets: Add a row (who, message, time)

Result: A lightweight approval log without a new tool.

Under the hood

The triggers and actions these use.

  • Google Sheets: New rowtrigger, checked on your plan's interval

Starts a run for each row added at the bottom of a sheet (checked on your plan's schedule interval).

  • Google Sheets: Read rowsaction

Reads the rows of a sheet as objects keyed by the header row.

  • Google Sheets: Add a rowaction

Adds a row at the bottom of a sheet.

  • Slack: Post a messageaction

Posts a message (plain text or Block Kit blocks) to a channel as the Fluxo Flow app.

  • Slack: Reaction addedtrigger, instant

Starts a run when someone adds an emoji reaction to a message in a channel (e.g. ✅ to approve), delivered by Slack's Events API.

Set it up

Connect Google Sheets + Slack in 4 steps.

  1. Connect Google and Slack

In Settings → Integrations, connect Google Sheets with the Google account that can open the sheet, and connect Slack. Invite the app to your channel with /invite @Fluxo Flow.

  2. Point the step at your sheet

Paste the spreadsheet link and pick the sheet. The first row is treated as the header, so columns come through by name.

  3. Add AI if you want a summary

Connect an AI provider in Settings → AI Providers and add an AI Generate step between the read and the Slack post.

  4. Dry Run, then activate

Dry Run with sample rows, check the message in the trace, then activate the schedule or trigger.

How the new-row trigger works

The trigger checks the sheet on your plan's schedule interval and starts one run per row added at the bottom since the last check. Rows inserted in the middle or deleted can shift row numbers, so append new data at the end (most forms and workflows do).

What Fluxo Flow can see in your Google account

The Sheets connection asks for spreadsheet access plus your email address to label the connection, and reads or writes only the spreadsheets your workflows point to. One Google connection is shared by the Google apps in Fluxo Flow, so the consent screen lists them too; Drive access is limited to files Fluxo Flow creates. Details on the Google Sheets integration page.

Make the message worth reading

A row dump is noise. Group by owner, lead with what changed, and cap the length in the AI step's prompt. If the digest goes to a client rather than your team, put a Human Review step before it and send it by email instead: see weekly report from Google Sheets by email.

FAQ

Google Sheets + Slack: questions.

Does it change my sheet?

Only if you add a write step (Add a row). Reading rows and the new-row trigger don't modify the sheet.

How quickly does a new row reach Slack?

Within one schedule interval of your plan, since the trigger checks the sheet on that interval. Faster plans check more often.

Can it post to several channels?

Yes. Use a Router on a column (team, region, priority) and a Slack step per channel.

Can I use it on the Free plan?

You can build and Dry Run this on the Free plan. Running it live (schedules, app triggers, webhooks) needs a paid plan.
